United, yet praying.it your way
Without the praying.it initiative each Christian group, church or organisation would be left to set up an individual prayer group which may be fine for their purposes but does not reflect God's greater purpose: if we are all of one purpose (Philippians 2:2)- seeking God's kingdom on earth - then it's great to demonstrate that unity of purpose : there are differences in detail and expression but we're all in effect praying for the same thing! Setting up praying.it Prayer Partnerships makes a statement about our unity of purpose and presents a right and healthy focus.
Easy to set up and use
Christians can join your Prayer Group by simply inputting your Username and Clicking a button. You can publish your Username for such use by any means: a news letter, church notices or alongside a Golden Surfer advert in your church magazine? (
for details). If you have a website, you can pop a praying.it badge or banner on it enabling visitors to Click through and become Prayer Partners without having to type in your details at all: it's easy for people to join you!
It's also easy for you to manage your Prayer Partners with nothing to learn as simple instructions guide you every step of the way!
Accessible and flexible
Communications to Prayer Partners are via standard email: just type the name of your Prayer Group as the email's 'to' address and a copy will be sent to each of your Prayer Partners.
You could send prayer needs - news, updates, concerns regularly or as they arise, provided that you don't send more than the agreed number of posts (see terms and conditions).
Unless you have chosen to add external addresses to your Prayer Group, all your Prayer Partners will have @praying.it email addresses and access to online praying.it email accounts so you may choose to take advantage of that knowledge: the email you create and view in your own praying.it email account will look just the same when received by your Prayer Partners, eliminating the common concern that recipients of emails can't view them properly.
You have huge control over how you run your Prayer Group: with the permission of your Prayer Partners, you could even split into smaller groups, prayer triplets, a prayer circle, grow into an online fellowship group - it's up to you!
Encourage visits to your website
Rather than send all your Information via email, you could choose to place information on your website and send links to your Prayer Partners instead. By doing so, you will encourage your Prayer Partners to visit your website more regularly.
Better privacy and security
All Prayer Groups are "opt in" with the ability to "opt out" at any time. The basic rules of the initiative protect people's privacy so Prayer Partners are more confident and likely to take part.
Considering the past and the future
You may already have something of an email Prayer Group? If so, your praying.it account has facilities that enable you to import your group into the praying.it initiative. Your Prayer Partners don't have to be part of the praying.it initiative to be part of your Prayer Group - though obviously it'd be great if you encouraged them to take part!
